So Thankful I Waited for Him.......

Tuesday, I went out to eat with some of my best girlfriends from high school. We had lots of fun just being together. And, we had some good laughs as we shared memories about our past relationships and days gone by. It reminded me how thankful I am that God is the one who is in control. His ways and plans are always perfect....even when He says, "no" to something or someone who we think we really want.

As I look back over my life, I can see how his hand was always leading me and protecting my future..........though sometimes the path seemed very dark.

How I praise him for the One he created just for me. How I thank him for watching over me as He sent his angels out ahead of me to find my hubby and bring us together in his perfect timing!
How blessed I am that God is so wise........and sometimes his answer is no.....and for a GOOD reason.

Later that same evening, (after returning home from dinner with my girlfriends) this is what I found: I just had to capture this sweet moment..... and say a little thank-you to my loving Heavenly Father for giving me such a wonderful hubby and daddy for my children. "The revelation of God is whole and pulls our lives together. The signposts of God are clear and point out the right road. The life-maps of God are right, showing the way to joy. The directions of God are plain and easy on the eyes. God's reputation is twenty-four-carat gold, with a lifetime guarantee. The decisions of God are accurate down to the nth degree. " Psalm 19:7

Just Like Mommy.......

After completing some of our Christmas shopping today at Toys R Us, I was trying to get everyone into the car and it was raining. I was hurrying to get my purchases in first so the boxes would not get too soggy. Karson was waiting in the buggy and our conversation went something like this:

Karson: "Mommy, its waining!"

Me: "Yes, Karson it is raining."

Karson: "Mommy, it's wet!"

Me: "Just a second sweet girl--and I'll put you in."

Karson: "But Mommy, (covering her ponytail and big purple bow with her little hands) MY HAIR!!!!!!!!!"

Like I said in the last post, she is all girl---------and ALL me!

Miss Prissy Panties Strikes Again

Karson is definitely ALL girl! She loves for mommy to spray her with body splash and hairspray. And, she is always trying to swipe Jeremy's chapstick, which she thinks is lipstick, off the nightstand. So, needless to say, she really likes playing dress-up! Luckily, my god-sister, Alexandria, handed down some of her things for Karson to play with. Maybe this will keep her out of my closet for a little while longer!

The Sweetest Voice........

I love my kids voices! They are so sweet and innocent. Most of all, I love to hear them sing!

Karson is really into babies right now. She loves taking care of her dolls and meeting real babies when we are out on the town. I have tried to help her think of names for her baby dolls because she has several and they all need names don't they? But, she usually ends up calling all of them baby Jesus............so sweet. Please pause my music and listen to my sweet girl on this clip. I want her to stay this little FOREVER!!!!!!!!

My Snuggle Puppy's Boo-boo....

My sweet snuggle puppy, Brady, broke his leg! I wish I had some dramatic, fabulous story to explain how we ended up in the ER last Tuesday night, but I don't. We were all in the den watching Nim's Island (which I plan to finish watching in a little while). Brady was just walking across the room and the next minute we heard his head hit the floor. Jeremy and I don't get too worked up over falls because, with two toddlers, they happen a lot at our house. However, this fall was different.... The screaming was different....The look on his face was different..... Tickling did not make him laugh.......M&Ms did not distract him........

So, long story short....X-rays in the ER showed a spiral fracture to his tibia. We left in a full splint from foot to hip. Luckily, the orthopedist we saw said he would heal in 3 to 4 weeks and allowed the cast to come below his knee. Brady must have taken an awkward step and twisted his leg.

They pulled out all the colors for him to choose from for his cast. Jeremy was rooting for purple for Furman, I was rooting for red (accent red for South), but Brady said, "orange!" I guess he still has faith left in the VOLS!

This was a lesson to us that you can never completely prevent your children from getting hurt. I'm that crazy mother who can't enjoy a play date at the park because instead of conversing with the other moms, I am trying to be a personal spotter on every piece of playground equipment. Oh, well...I guess I better get started on installing a padded room!

Pooh, who is Brady's favorite pal, came along for comfort and ended up with a cast too!

We're Off to See the Wizard!

I thought it was only appropriate for the Oz's to go as character's from the Land of Oz for Halloween. It was so fun to see Karson and Brady so excited about Trick-or-Treating! They had a great time and looked adorable if I do say so myself!

Karson was easily coaxed into getting into her costume. It simply took a bribe of promising to spray her pigtails with hairspray. She was excited about carrying Toto as well.
Brady, on the other hand, did NOT want to put on his costume. But, after a little bit of bribing (of promising to go to Grammy's house and eat some cake) and a few tears, he gave in. After seeing himself in the mirror, he was excited. Actually, I think he was excited cause he got to wear some of mommy's make-up! (It's okay; it was just a little eyeliner for whiskers and brown nose)
Daddy helped him get into character by helping him practice his roars!

I'm so proud that I finally found some ruby red slippers without having to resort to eBay!
But the used lion costume did come first class mail from one T. Lopez in Chicago. Who knew lion costumes in 2T were so hard to come by!

I didn't get pics of this (for fear of retaliation) but it was Papa (Jeremy's dad) who got Brady to finally wear his mane. Papa wore it himself until Brady was convinced that it was "cool."
Brady kept saying, "I ready to go Mommy! I ready to go!"

Dreaming of candy!
Cousin Cavin stopped by for a few minutes on his "Trick-or -Treat" route. He was a Texas Ranger. Needless to say, we all were arrested at least once or twice that evening!
And we're off to our first house!First stop: "Onnie's" house. Lonnie and Donna's house actually--they live next door.
The night before Halloween, we practiced what to say when someone answers the door. They were shy at the first couple of houses. But by the end of the night, they got the hang of it!
