Because......

Because my grandmother, Mema (Meme to my kids), comes EVERYDAY to my house.....I am able to keep my sanity!

Because she does almost ALL of the laundry.....Jeremy has clean underwear!

Because she makes sure to remind me buy laundry detergent, milk, toilet paper, etc....we usually don't have to make emergency trips to Wally World at midnight.

Because she often brings me dinner.....my life is easier.

Because she ALWAYS makes sure my house is clean when my hubby gets home....it appears that I did more than just "play" all day.

Because she is a prayer warrior and has a sincere faith in God's power to do the impossible......I have a wonderful husband and two miracles.

Because of her unconditional love for me and my children......I am a better mother.

Because she has shown me what it truly means to be SELFLESS......I am a better person!

Because of her relationship with the Lord......I have one too.

Because she is the BEST person I know.......I am so thankful that God blessed me to be her granddaughter!
"Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate." Proverbs 31:29-31

Run Oz's Run!

The Oz family's Fun Festing centered around running this year. Daddy ran the Crazy 8's, the twins ran the Little's 8's and mommy just ate :) I did do Neil's Walk......maybe next year I'll do the run!
I will say that this race is not something we will do again........at least until they are old enough to beg to do it.

Brady kept saying, "My leg hurts!".......and which leg was "hurting" changed every few minutes. I felt sorry for him.......he really did not wanna do this. Karson, however, was pumped until she got out on the field with everyone. Then, she tried to climb up daddy and did not wanna do it! I don't blame ya baby! I felt so bad! It was too hot and too crowded.......and they were just too little!Brady's new cousin, Chris, ran with him. He held his hand and Brady actually ran! His cousin, Cavin, came in 2nd! Cavin is almost 4 and enjoyed it a lot. I think we will just come and cheer him on next year. But, at least there were rewards for the participants.......there's nothing like a juice box and an oatmeal pie! After our long day on the field, we all participated in Neil's Walk. It was pretty fun! The kids were dead tired, but the adults enjoyed it! We all stayed and cheered on Daddy......who did really well!
Yeah for Daddy Oz!

Guiltless "Me Time".......

All Mommies need some "me time" every now and again! I have come up with a guilt-free way to achieve some

You will need:
1. Lots of books
2. lots of stuffed animals (preferably 2 of each kind.....we had 3 or 4 monkeys but who's counting)
3. a fitted sheet
4. oral translation of the story of Noah's Ark
5. a cage of some sort (aka a crib or a pack-n-play.........I really do consider breaking out my dogs' crates every now and then.......but I fear that someone might call DCS and I don't think I'd last that long in prison!)

Anyway, this is "guiltless" because it incorporates and promotes sibling togetherness, reading time (oral/silent), clean-up-time and Bible study all in one fun little "game." :)
First, tell the kiddos that it is starting to rain and that they'd better do like God told Noah and get in the Ark! Give a quick retelling of the Ark story (let them help you tell it). Then "clean up" their messy room by throwing all of the stuffed animals and books in the "cage" with them. Put a sheet over the "cage" and tell them that they cannot come out for ANY reason until the "flood" is over!
If they get done reading their books or just want out before your "Me Time" is over, tell them that the dove has not yet returned with the olive branch and they will just have to sit tight for a few more minutes!
In the words of Yo-Gabba-Gabba.....try it.......you'll like it! You might even get some blogging done while the kiddos are waiting out the storm!

Happy B-Day America

We had so much fun celebrating the 4th this year! We started things off with a cook-out hosted by Andy and Laura Warrick (aka Taylor Morgan of 98.5) on 4th of July Eve. We had some GREAT food and lots of fun watching the kiddos play and viewing a super fireworks show!! Brady had a "Ball" trying out all of Drew Warrick's sporting equipment! Brady was also quite the ladies' man that evening. Okay, really he just wouldn't get off of the glider and graciously accepted any rider who would "tug and pull, tug and pull" with him!Now this is a total shocker.......gasp! Mama Oz letting her kids play with fire?!?! "The Fire Marshall (aka me)" was given the "stop trying to put my kids in a plastic bubble" eye from Daddy Oz. So, she relented.

They definitely don't take after their mama in this area!

On the 4th, we started the festivities by attending Kingsport's parade. I LOVE seeing all of the proud veterans and honoring them, but the rest of the parade really just consisted of businesses trying to advertise. But, the Oz's still had fun!

My proud little Americans leaving for the parade.

A family shot with cousin CavinWe showed our local Kingsport politician, Tyler, a little love. Because after the parade and lunch at G & G's, we packed our bags and headed to his lake house for some yummy food, jet-skiing and fireworks!

These brave little dare-devils have no fear! They had a BLAST in the water....even though it was pretty darn cold!

And, they took their first jet-ski ride!

We hope your 4th was as much fun as ours!

The Tiny Traitor

Please pause my music to witness our own flesh and blood defying everything her parents have taught her!

We made her repent later with by saying several "Go Rebels!" and a few "Yay South's!"

We hope she has learned her lesson and will never again get caught up in the wiles of the enemy. We apologize to the Rebel Nation and South fans everywhere.

New Additions

We have had several new additions to the Osborne family! Jeremy's brother, Chris, added 3 more cousins to our brood when he married Summer last month! Karson is no longer the only girl! And, mine are no longer the only set of twins! We are blessed to be aunt and uncle to these charming kids! Angela and Olivia are super-sweet identical twins. Their older brother, Chris (who we call little Chris), was visiting his biological dad for the summer when the wedding took place.

And this little guy is Chris's son, Cavin. He looked adorable in his little tux. His daddy told him that this was his "secret agent" disguise........he did a great job of keeping the wedding ring safe! Welcome to the family!
