Full Circle

I grew up on the COOLEST street in town......really, it was! I did not say the most exclusive or most expensive.........I said the COOLEST. It was a circle actually..........a circle comprised of young families and lots of children. It was the kind of place where someone was always ringing your doorbell to see if you could play. Stepping outside meant finding yourself in the middle of a touch-football game, tennis-ball-baesball tournament with no rules or a basketball game being played by other peoples' kids in your own driveway. There was never a dull moment.

We ALWAYS had a bunch of neighborhood friends who just happened to stop by our house to play on a daily basis. Actually, I am about 99% sure most of their mommas shooed them out the door and said, "Why don't you see if the Jones's are home...Stay as long as you want!......I'll call when dinner is ready!" Thus, my grandmother, Mema, became the second grandmother to most of Quail Creek.

But, one friend in particular practically lived at our house. Matt first came to play with me when my brother was too little to befriend. I still remember the Cookie Monster slippers he wore the first night he slept over! But, alas, he quickly became best buds with my little brother and kicked me to the curb.......unless they needed a position filled for a baseball game or someone to view a "haunted house" they had created.

Anyway, Mema always took care of Matt......as she did most of the neighborhood. If Dave was home, Matt was there. So, she was thrilled when she had the opportunity to help babysit for Matt's little boy! It was certainly one of those moments when you see that life has come full circle!

I Wanna Hold your hand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pre-school.........Day 2
So, I've gone from 2 happy campers to 1 very happy camper and 1 who continues to plead, "It's too long without you mommy.......I miss you!" My SWEET Brady is missing his Mama quite a lot at school. When Oz and I went to pick them up on day 2, my super-sensitive, snuggle-puppy was crying.........apparently ALL day!

I first blamed it on the fact that he did not get a turn on the tri-cycle merry-go-round, but now I understand that it is a twin thing. Who knew that being a twin could be so rough! Apparently, he has been following his Sissy around like a lost puppy at school......begging to hold her hand most of the day. And, there is no doubt that she none to happy with this! She is bold. She is feisty. She is having the time of her life.........and is not having any of this clingy brother stuff.

She told me, "Mommy I wanna play with a little girl.........sometimes." On the other hand, "Brady is crying to the teacher, "Sissy won't play with me!"

Oh, dear............this twin thing IS harder than I thought!! I wish I could just squeeze Brady into a cute little Carter's onezie and rock him all day!!! Why did I think things were so hard back then?

I wish I could have this back!!

Sunday Snoozen

Sunday school sure is rough on a body............. All that coloring, songs with motions, eating animal crackers and trying to remember and repeat everything you learned when quizzed by your mama in the car = exhaustion!!!!!!!!!

I Can't Believe........

........My BABIES are in Pre-school!!

Today was their first day! They were super excited! They put on their little backpacks and were ready to go! I made them take some pictures firstI made them promise to be nice and protect each other! We've got our gear! When we got there, Karson stuck out her lip and pouted, "I wanted to ride the school bus!" Then, she said "GET OUT Mommy; let's get out!!!" (We were a little early...I was trying not to be the first one there :))

They literally ran to the door! They went right into the room, sat down and grabbed markers. Before I left, Brady's shirt was already stained.......so much for trying to make him look presentable!

They were totally ignoring me, so I said "Bye guys." They just waived and ignored me some more. Now, I am sitting here counting down the minutes until I can pick them up.......go figure!
More of their adventures at pre-school to come........

Camping!

Last weekend, the Oz's took their first camping trip!! Jeremy's BFF, Todd (see my bromance post), and his wife Becky invited us to spend the weekend camping in Gatlinburg! They have a SWEET camper, the weather cooperated pretty well and we had LOTS of fun!!What could be better than hanging out in the creek with your favorite people in the entire world?Catching rain in our mouths was up there on the list too!Brady's mosquito fan kept him absolutely bite-free the entire trip!We enjoyed swinging.....and riding an alligator. We ate quite a few push-up pops. The campground had a fun pool! After a couple hours of swimming, mommy and daddy REALLY had time to relax while the twins took a LONG nap! I LOVE summer!!
Daddy had to wake Sissy and her brother up to help fix dinner.
Mr. Todd taught them how to shuck corn.Brady may have stolen Daddy's BFF standing with Mr. Todd. They became best buds! And, Miss Karson fell in love with Miss Becky......but so does everyone......she is the best! The twins had their first experience making s'mores and roasting marshmallows.

Man, I wish I had one of these right now!
Brady said, "I like the unfire ones better!" Whatever.......makes you happy young Jedi.

It was a fun, potty-accident-FREE weekend!!! Yay for good food, good fun, and good friends!!
