1982 Revisted

My sweet girl and I have A LOT in common. We share mutual affection for many things like Cheetos, lipstick, pink gum, princess memorabilia, swinging, orange juice, Daddy Oz, getting our way......etc. Another thing we both love is:
My "summer nightgown" circa 1982. For some reason, I LOVED this gown. I wanted to wear it every night and did until it fit me like a tight tank top and only reached my belly button. I think the only reason I gave it up is because I literally could not get it on at all. My sweet mama saved it for me though. And now, it is a hit with my Sis too!! Another hit with my little mini-me are sponge-rollers! My hair was stick straight when I was little and I used to beg my tired, working mama to roll my hair with those things before I went to bed. Lucky for me, Karson has naturally curly hair anyway, so this is not something that has to become a regular bedtime routine. But, even with her natural curls, she wanted to try out mommy's rollers........since they were pink and all.
She loved them and didn't complain once about them hurting her head. Her main worry was that they were gonna fall out while she slept! It's good that she is learning early that beauty is pain and there is no point in complaining about it!!

Anything for a Tootsie Roll.....

My kids will do just about anything for a tootsie roll. So, when I saw the prices of the pics from the professional beach photos that we had taken (we got a free session from a time-share thingy), I was determined to recreate the images myself. Luckily, the professional photos weren't all that professional, so I didn't have to try too hard.......and that is good because I had no idea how to use my new camera. As, you can see......there weren't too many smiles at 7:30 am at my bribery photo session on the morning we were leaving the beach. But, they did both receive their favorite treat anyway for being forced to get sandy and deal with it for the long drive back home. He kept telling me over and over that he did not know how to smile. But, this look is typical Brady so it works.

Power-packed Picnic

Imagine the shock of walking into your bedroom to find two super-heroes having a picnic on your bed.
I guess one gets pretty hungry after a day of trying to save the world!

This guy must have had a rough day fighting the forces of darkness because he didn't even know his own name. But, he claims to be "very strong" and can do "canon balls at Myrtle Beach." This brave hero is none other than "Boing-a Boing-a Girl." When questioned about her super-powers, she claimed to "be able to fly up to the sky where Jesus is." And though she didn't admit to it, I am pretty sure that she might breath fire as well.......but only when provoked........like if she doesn't get just one more cheese cracker or is not able to help butter her own waffle.........you know, major stuff.

I'm glad to know that these two are out there helping to keep our streets safe! Watch out bad guys, these two are pretty tough!

So Thankful!!

I am so, so thankful to be called "Mommy" by these two!! "He gives the childless woman a family, making her a happy mother.
Praise the Lord!" Psalm 113:9
Our college band at church sang one of my favorite songs today. I long for the day when I will be able to sing this to Jesus face to face!!

Busta Rhyme

My sweet, sweet hubby did a lot of hard, undercover research (okay.....he read my blog) to find out exactly what I wanted for Mother's Day. And, much to Karson's delight, he got me a pink ipod of my very own. No longer do I have to rewind my high school mixed tapes or borrow his ipod and listen to weepy country songs. However, my pretty-in-pink music library is absolutely empty. And, because I am way too cheap to pay i-tunes for some hip hits, I have been looking for a cool cat who might be willing to share some power jams with me...........especially someone with a little hidden gangsta flair.........cause EVERYONE needs a little rap to get them through the fifth mile.
Recently, I spotted this dude at the park and asked him if he had any rhymes he might be willing to share. He said, and I quote, "Sneech, teach and beach........those words rhyme and that's all I've got."
