Spash and Play on School's Last Day!

The Oz kids' school celebrated the last day with some water fun. It was simple, it was wet and it was fun. Who needs a pool when you've got a bucket and a couple of sponges?

One baby pool for twenty-some toddlers to share was pretty wild, but they seemed to have a blast.
Brady cracked everyone up giving what looked like a pedicure to all of the ladies.
You had to be there, but it really was funny.
He also enjoyed putting a kink in the hose and then soaking people when they walked by. He got in a little trouble with his teacher for doing this...............I felt bad because I was the one who told him to do it!
We loved our teachers!! Here are the thank-you gifts we gave them. I wrapped the bottom of gerber daises in some material I had in my stash, tied them with some ribbon from my ribbon box, added a gift card to a local greenhouse and created a card using some scrapbooking scissors/paper, a dowel rod and print-out of a cute pic.

It was hard to say good-bye to such sweet teachers!

I must say that it is quite rough around here with no pre-school this summer!! Watch out all you local VBS's and church day camps! The Oz kids will be signed up for as many this Mama can find...........I'm only kidding.......but only slightly. We're currently signed up for two......but I'm keeping ALL options open!

Smarty Pants Strikes Again

Quote of the day by Brady D., age 3: (While eating lunch at Bone Fire Smokehouse) "Daddy, if this is a Smokehouse, why does that sign over there on the door say 'No Smoking?'"

Fathers

"4 years: My Daddy can do anything!
7 years: My Dad knows a lot…a whole lot.
8 years: My father does not know quite everything.
12 years: Oh well, naturally Father does not know that either.
14 years: Oh, Father? He is hopelessly old-fashioned.
21 years: Oh, that man-he is out of date!
25 years: He knows a little bit about it, but not much.
30 years: I must find out what Dad thinks about it.
35 years: Before we decide, we will get Dad's idea first.
50 years: What would Dad have thought about that?
60 years: My Dad knew literally everything!
65 years: I wish I could talk it over with Dad once more."

"He opened the jar of pickles when no one else could. He was the only one in the house who wasn't afraid to into the basement by himself. He cut himself shaving, but no one kissed it or got excited about it. It was understood when it rained, he got the car and brought it around to the door. When anyone was sick, he went out to get the prescription filled. He took lots of pictures ... but he was never in them." (Erma Bombeck)My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me."
(Jim Valvano)"Small boys become big men through the influence of big men who care about small boys." (Unknown)
"Train up a child in the way which he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it" Proverbs 22:6
"The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother."

We are very blessed to have such wonderful men in our lives!! Happy Father's Day!!

Just Dance

Just thought you might like to know that the hubby and I have still got it. We thought we'd show those young, 20-something college kids a thing or two at Cory's wedding. I must say......we can boogie with the the best of them. I'm glad my ol' man still likes to "shake a leg" every now and again!

Rain Walk

Rainy days are crazy days around here! This summer, there is no pre-school, and Mama Oz really counts on the sunshine for lots of outdoor playtime. In other words, sunshine+outdoors+running, jumping and water hoses = good, long afternoon naps!! So, since we have such cute rain boots and jackets.......rainy summer days still = outdoor fun at the Oz house. Here are some shots from our first official "rain walk" of summer.

A Beautiful Mess

Weddings are usually beautiful.........3 year olds are usually cute........3 year olds in weddings are usually a mess. Mine were definitely a mess. But, Daddy Oz's cousin Cory's wedding was certainly beautiful and they sure are cute.

I am proud to say that I was able to keep the flower girl's white dress spotlessly clean for hours leading up to the wedding. I fought off strawberries, tomatoes, orange punch and fudgy brownies. I dared her to even think about climbing trunks of trees, threatened her with every "not really gonna follow-through with" punishment I could think of and made bribes that only a grandparent would ever even consider giving in to. Too bad that this little girl, in a perfectly clean white dress, absolutely refused to have her picture made post ceremony.
This dashing young chap was mostly wrangled by his daddy and was taken to Wally World pre-wedding to pick out his bribe. Fortunately for my pocketbook, Mario Kart will be staying behind lock and key in the electronics department due to this little man having to be carried out of the church during the ceremony for sliding down the pew and making loud outbursts:)

The isle was walked and bubbles were made, so at least it wasn't all for nothing.
How could these two ever be trouble you ask?
I think our trouble started when Karson began a little fling with Kaiden the ring-bearer. He was all about her and she was ding'n it!He was quite the little ladies man. Too bad Karson's prince has already come........his name is Daddy!

How to Eat Fried (I mean baked) Worms

In an attempt to beat the boredom of a rainy day, we decided to get a little crafty. I'm all about craftiness........especially when the end result is something to EAT.
I have been forced to sign a blood oath (not really, but practically) that we will do all of the activities in this book during the summer. We started simple...........something that did not require glue or little pieces of paper (I have enough sticky messes already!)
Thanks to Pillsbury's crescent rolls for our "Semi-Homemade" shortcut......and to Sandra Lee for making "Semi-Homemade" cool. Yeah, my oven is gross........but, I am too busy making dough caterpillar memories to care!

Here they are.......ready to crawl away.

Join us again as we check off another project in our book........and pray that it does not involve glitter.
