You will need:
1. Lots of books
2. lots of stuffed animals (preferably 2 of each kind.....we had 3 or 4 monkeys but who's counting)
3. a fitted sheet
4. oral translation of the story of Noah's Ark
5. a cage of some sort (aka a crib or a pack-n-play.........I really do consider breaking out my dogs' crates every now and then.......but I fear that someone might call DCS and I don't think I'd last that long in prison!)
Anyway, this is "guiltless" because it incorporates and promotes sibling togetherness, reading time (oral/silent), clean-up-time and Bible study all in one fun little "game." :)
First, tell the kiddos that it is starting to rain and that they'd better do like God told Noah and get in the Ark! Give a quick retelling of the Ark story (let them help you tell it). Then "clean up" their messy room by throwing all of the stuffed animals and books in the "cage" with them. Put a sheet over the "cage" and tell them that they cannot come out for ANY reason until the "flood" is over!

If they get done reading their books or just want out before your "Me Time" is over, tell them that the dove has not yet returned with the olive branch and they will just have to sit tight for a few more minutes!
In the words of Yo-Gabba-Gabba.....try it.......you'll like it! You might even get some blogging done while the kiddos are waiting out the storm!

Love This... I will definately have to try it...
I love this! I will have to try it when Kate's a little older... I can see how some 'me time' can be much needed and hard to come by!!
this is hilarious!
and when you no longer have a crib or kids that will fit in a crib you build a fort :)
