Anyway…..the trees are up and we have several new additions at our house this year.
And, to go along with the theme of Brady’s new big boy room, his tree rings in some holiday cheer for the Red, Blue and Gray…….all the way!! He helped me put all of the ornaments on his South Rebel tree and he is very proud of it!! We are sad that football season is over……but his tree still shines brightly with southern pride stand’n tall……we’re still #1 in football!!
Another new addition this year is what I like to refer to as the vintage tree……1980’s vintage that is! A couple of weeks ago, I rescued all of my childhood ornaments out of my parent’s basement. They had been forced into retirement when my mom got a new tree and all new, fabulous matching ornaments. But, I missed the old ornaments that I remember hanging on the tree as a kid. So, I dedicated this little tree to hold memories from the 80’s……when leggings, plaid shirts and bomber jackets were cool…..wait...…is history repeating itself or what?
This is an ornament I made in girl scouts in 5th grade. It was my first and last completed cross-stitching project.
Yep, that's me.....in Sunday School when I was 7.
And this is supposed to be me circa 1980.
Moving on........This tree used to be the “Baby Tree” that was all decked out in all pastel pink and blue to celebrate my twins’ first few Christmas’s. Sadly, they aren’t babies anymore……so the tree had to grow up a bit. Now, it is in the kitchen sporting a pink, green, silver and white motif to blend in with my new curtains and kitchen renovation updates….which I will show in another post........I promise!
The little tree in the dining room is an old favorite. It is my tiny teacup tree. It was very wobbly and sad looking after being weighted down by all its ornaments. So, I stuck it in one of my toile boxes. Now, it is much happier!
For the past 2 years, we have had our big, live tree in the living room to keep it away from little toddler hands. This year, they finally understand that they CAN’T touch the tree (that doesn’t always stop them…..but they understand)!!!!! So, we put up a small tree in the living room and saved the big tree for our den…..where we spend most of our time. Since we moved rooms, we had to change themes for the main tree. I had been using toile ribbon (I have a little toile obsession in case you don't already know :) ) and flowers dusted with glitter on our main tree. But, I decided to save the fancy, shamancy stuff for the living room and make the big tree just plain fun. So we got a $15 dollar tree at Lowe's for our old decor and here it is:
I soooo wanted the kids to be able to put all of their glorious pre-school creations on the tree!! Like most folks, we let the kids pick out an ornament each year and I didn’t wanna worry about if they matched or stuck to a certain color scheme! So, this tree is done in traditional red and green and just a tree full of new and old Oz family memories.
Daddy Oz's happy little football......
My Troop 157 Brownie from first or second grade......
One of the many sweet wedding themed ornaments we received for our holiday wedding!
Yay for Christmas! But most of all......yay for Jesus' Birthday! We are so thankful for Emmanuel "God with us!!!"
Now, go to Kelly's blog and check out all of the other trees at her "Show us your Life.....Tree Party!"

Ok girl! your trees look wonderful and you make me tired for doing that many! I only have two and garland on my stairs and will post pictures once I replace the stupid set on lights that went out last night! I decorate several clients trees for Christmas (which are so much prettier than my own..I wish I could post pics of those), so I get exhausted once I get to my own house! You HAVE to get timers! It is soooo fun to wake up and know that all your festive lights will be on when you walk down the stairs (but only for like 5 min. before you wake fire marshal)! Anyway, they all look wonderful. I want to see the kitchen!!!!!
