Their First Movie

The Oz kids finally saw their first movie! We wanted it to be a classic (my first was E.T.---total classic!) ......and we wanted them to be old enough to sit through the entire thing and not to embarrass us in the theater. Well, as luck would have it, we didn't have to worry about the embarrassment part.........we were the only folks in the theater!! The kids were VERY excited to go to the movies and mommy and daddy were excited to take them!!

We saw The Princess and the Frog.

Yay! We have Tickets!
Brady LOVES popcorn!! Good thing it was $1 popcorn night!

I kept trying to explain what was going on to the kids throughout the entire movie. Finally, Karson turned to me and said, "Mommy, you ARE NOT supposed to talk in the theater!" AT least she remembered the rules........but luckily we had the place to ourselves!
We even got up and danced during all the songs........well, Daddy Oz and the kids did. I took pictures!

It was a fun night. However, this was not my favorite Disney movie.......and it did not even come close to the awesomeness of the classics like Cinderella or Snow White. I was not thrilled with all of the voodoo stuff or references to "friends on the other side" or scary shadowy figures or the fact the Shadowman promised his "friends" that they could have lots of wayword souls if they helped him. Our kids asked lots of questions.......and we tried to give some good biblical answers. I am a little disappointed in Disney for adding so much of the dark stuff into this movie. It could have been just as good without it!
Here is a REVIEW by Focus on the Family's Plugged In Movie Guide. I don't know if I completely agree with the reviewer. I think he was a little too kind to Disney's emphasis on all of the dark magic. But, you should decide for yourself!
