Cara's brother, who leads an international student ministry at UT, was given the privilege of doing the dedication.
As parents, we have so much on our plates. Most of the time, it seems like there just aren't enough hours in the day for everything. But, everyday, I want to make sure there is enough time for the most important thing......letting my children see Christ in me and teaching them about Him as we go about our day. I LOVE this verse from Deuteronomy:
“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:5-9
Here, the Lord asks us to hide His word in the hearts of our children. It amazes me everyday how much knowledge even 2-year-olds can retain. They are like little sponges.....soaking up all of the things I say.......and carefully watching what I do. So, I want to be sure that throughout each day....through the messes, the playing, the errands, the laughter and the noise.........that my children can see Jesus in me.........and that we talk about Him long and often.
This quote by Billy Graham's daughter, Anne Graham Lotz, has inspired me a lot lately. This is the kind of legacy I want to leave for my children:
“But two things stand out above all the rest. My Mother was in love with Jesus…and that love was contagious. She wasn’t caught up in religion or tradition or rituals-- she was caught up in a personal relationship with Jesus. And she developed that relationship through hours spent reading and studying her Bible, hours spent on her knees in prayer. Growing up, my bedroom was situated directly over hers. It didn’t matter what time I went to bed at night--I could see the light from her window reflected on the trees outside and I knew she was up. If I slipped down to her room, I would find her on her knees in prayer beside her bed. Regardless of what time I got up in the morning, I would find her at her big flat top desk, reading her Bible with about 14 different versions spread around her.” (Anne Graham Lotz about her mother Ruth Bell Graham).......... Is that awesome or what?!?! I don't know about you; but that's the kinda mama that I wanna be!!!!

She loves her Aunt "Tawa" (Cara) too! (Brady was too interested playing with cousin Noah downstairs to have his picture made!)
And here is my mommy who talked about Jesus with me and Dave when we were at home, out walking, when we lied down and got up. I remember seeing her sitting in the hall bathroom, (infront of her little heater ;) reading the Word. Thanks for sharing your love of Jesus with me......so that Jeremy knows and Brady and Karson will know........there is NO greater gift!
"I will sing of the LORD's great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.” Psalm 89:1
