The Great Indoors!

Ya'll who know me understand that I am NOT an "outdoorsy type." It is not that I just haven't tried to enjoy the great outdoors. My 7 years of Girl Scouting provided me with plenty of opportunities to test my level as an "outdoors enthusiast." I have done my share of tent pitching, creek bathing, latreen using, campfire building, bug spraying and "scenic" hiking. I have been taught the art of digging my own potty, practiced laying flat in a field while hiking through electrical storms and eaten enough tacos in a bag to last a lifetime. However, none of these experiences have brought out the inner woodswoman in me.
I have also never understood why people love to hike. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with hiking across a parking lot to get to the mall or even a steep, uphill climb to get to Neyland Stadium. But, I don't "get" the thrill of walking forever just to get the top of somewhere to simply turn around and go back down again. I think it is awesome if you do........I just don't (get it that is.)
I'm relieved that my hubby is pretty much of the same opinion and would much rather stay at a Holiday Inn Express than on the ground in the forest. However, we do wanna make sure our kiddos are well-rounded and provide them with every opportunity to find their love of camping.........if that is their calling.

So, here is Daddy setting up camp for the night.
